You should get to know me because if you are nice to me and we connect on a meaningful level I will be your friend forever, whether anything romantic works out for us in the long term or not. I am introspective and creative. I like going to arty films and museums. I like live music. I like strolling around my neighborhood looking at the murals (there are tons of them) and hand painted signs. I also enjoy vegging out with some sitcoms, The Colbert Report and/or The Daily Show. I can laugh at my foibles. I'm kinda shy, but once out of my shell can be quite audacious. I like mischievous adventures. I like both going out and staying in. I am very independent and am not looking for someone to complete me, but to compliment me (pardon the cliche). I value my solitude, but wouldn't mind sharing a bed with someone sometimes, that's nice too. I cook sometimes -- I'm pretty good at it. I am passionate and sensitive. Would rather walk than wait for the bus. I like to meditate but am not very disciplined. I like old, dusty, rusty, dilapidated objects that most people would just throw in the trash. Would rather eat in the Tenderloin than the Marina. Volunteer work is fun.
My Ideal Person:
I would like to meet someone with whom I can connect emotionally and philosophically as well as physically. While sexual chemistry is absolutely important to me, I ideally want to build a solid relationship where you are my friend as well as my lover. Even if it's not a long term commitment, which it doesn't necessarily have to be. I am looking for someone who understands that challenging life experiences are what makes us interesting, and if you've had some beauties and became a deeper, more grounded individual through the process that's even better. Someone who can just be themselves, doesn't have the need to keep up a certain specific social image or only wants hang out with some elite group of people. Hopefully you don't take yourself too seriously. Laughter is essential, and I love dry sarcasm. I'm especially interested in other creative people, but as far as what you do for a living goes or what your hobbies or other activities are, I'm open. I like trying new things, so if there's anything I haven't done but you would like a mate to try, don't hesitate to ask! This includes hang gliding, gong to an anarchist poetry slam, or a visiting destination I would never think of going to. I like extroverts because they bring out the social side of me, and I like introspective types because they can open me up to fresh ways of reflecting on things. Compassion is a big plus. Don't be afraid to express compassion for others, that's a good thing.
The last great book I read The Autobiography of Malcolm X
My most humbling moment The time I called Richard Nixon an a-hole in front of my conservative grandparents when I was a kid. My parents were such a bad influence on me! But really, there have been so many I stopped keeping track a long time ago. Poverty is a real kicker for me.
Favorite on-screen sex scene The drunken 3-way toward the end of "Y Tu Mamá También."
The best or worst lie I've ever told I'll quit tomorrow.
If I could be anywhere right now I would be exactly where I am at this moment. Wanting to be somewhere else (which is often the case, I admit) means I'm not taking full advantage of the moment at hand.
Five items I can't live without my computer, an internet connection, my music, my bed, my art/design books
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Spontaneity is sexy; honesty is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... My desk with Macintosh computer, a scanner, printer, sticky notes with to-do lists, and a pile of books and magazines. My bed, TV, DVD player, VHS player, art and design books, piles of DVDs and VHS tapes, a rack of CDs, a half dressed mannequin, two dressers with lots of stuff on them (including beauty products, skulls, a vintage can of Red Devil's lighter fluid [empty], photos of the two best ever dogs I have known, and some wooden Russian dolls), a half open but all the way full closet, an old sewing table that functions as a night table, another table with various religious and nonreligious objects, incense dust, piles of old papers and I don't know what, a pile of laundry, walls with posters, paintings and images of all kinds on them, including a Victorian era diorama. Basically, my room is busting at the seams right now. People tell me I'm neat because I organize everything in piles and containers, but it's getting really hard to dust in here.
