I'm Canadian so obviously I enjoy hockey, Labatt's Blue, Tim Horton's, curling and the Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald. That does not mean that I love Alanis or Ann Murray. It does mean that I think that Alex Trebec is a raging wanker.
I like: the ocean, body boarding, love the idea of surfing but haven't worked up the nerve to try it, a cold Hef every now and then, ham sandwiches with mustard, WWII movies, WWII books, magnetic letters on my fridge, black cats, Chuck Klosterman, the ducks on the Venice canals, mood lighting, photography, hugging, shorts on a cool afternoon, commas, the beach when it's raining, the Auld Dubliner in LBC, Jack Johnson, guys who smell nice, glasses, glasses on guys who smell nice, kissing, sarcasm, The Chicago Styleguide, charitable people, sarcastic charitable people, running, blindingly good sex, biking, sleeping, comic book art, Lars and the Real Girl, skateboarding, reading, tattoos, documentaries, and the burn after a really good run.
I am forward but shy. Quiet but also loud. I ask difficult questions when others will not. I try to do at least one nice thing a day. I try to annoy one co-worker a day. I find off-color humor wildly entertaining. I think Ron Jeremy is creepy. I think Ron Jeremy running on the Santa Monica Boardwalk is even creepier. I like the word creepy.
My Ideal Person:
Someone who: likes spontaneous road trips, hanging out at the beach; drinking a beer with the salt still in their hair; makes me laugh really hard; is passionate about something, anything; likes animals; likes to laugh at me and at themselves; thinks that when I nerd out it's sexy; appreciates a good doughnut; likes themselves. These are not hard and fast rules however...I am open to pretty much any type of person who has their own interests. I like to try and learn new things.
And gasp....I don't care about how much money you make, what kind of car you drive, or what line of work you are in - I'm really just interested in what makes you, you. Crazy I know.
The last great book I read Chuck Klosterman's IV; Sex, Drugs, & Cocoa Puffs; Killing Yourself to Live; Lamb by Christopher Moore.
I'm currently reading Stiff, The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. I'm up to the part about the first malpractice suit in the U.S. that involved a poor sod, his gall stone, the 'doctor' and his rudimentary extraction tools (fingers). It's actually a great book I swear!
My most humbling moment Renewing my Onion personals account AGAIN.
Favorite on-screen sex scene The awkward pre-sex rumba scene between Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks in Zack & Miri Make A Porno.
The celebrity I resemble the most The girl everyone says they've seen somewhere.
The best or worst lie I've ever told Wow! Four tires for my car...what an awesome and romantic Christmas gift!
If I could be anywhere right now Somewhere decidedly cooler than on my sofa updating my profile.
Five items I can't live without My family; my pets; Andrew Bird; my running shoes; great surf.
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Boardshorts and a tee are sexy; boardshorts and no tee is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... Lots of books, lots of pillows, tons of light, and the sound of waves. Also the occasional sound of retching drunks in the alleyway.
