I am... creative, curious, attentive, flexible, intuitive, very affectionate, smart, funny, sensual... Or so I've been told. Does that count? Rumors abound on the subject of my smile and youthful appearance, but probably I am just immature. My family is large and interwoven: I welcome children into my life. My daughter is grown and flown, though I hardly understand how; she remains my favorite person on earth. I'm fascinated by what can be seen, sensitive to what can't; and my capacity for wonderment surprises even me. Part country girl and part urban sleuth, I'm thoughtful and active, ordinarily way too truthful, - and am looking for someone who - well, see below.
We could now indulge a monstrous list of things and places, habits and talents, likes and dislikes.. but somehow celebrating open air cafes, dusty old workshops, O Mercy!, tide pools, Norumbega Mt, a particular valley, P.S. Bookshop, getting lost, the Met, faded flannel, kissing, campfires, espresso, messing about in boats, manufactured landscapes, Rome, film marathons, people who make things, IPhones, absurdity, cheap eats, the American Elm in Prospect Park, eclectic music mixes, ruins, escaping Time, laughter unto tears, The New Yorker, wounded critters, images, spontaneous street adventures, that moonlit hike to Echo Lake, the unflagging devotion of dogs, cooking in, Road Trips! etc does become a dull read after a while. Besides, a list like this might make you draw all the wrong conclusions about me.
Isn't the connection everything? Whether it's forged by electricity, or in the edifying fire, once made it is nourished by friendship, communication and humor. And then the world opens up, with all that good stuff we need not name. So, drop me a line, and let's see what happens.
Like the cobbler/shoe contradiction, locating pictures of me is a bit of a challenge. I mostly find myself behind the lens - almost never "the object" - but I suppose more pictures will appear, whenever I get around to it. Meanwhile we'll have to get by on the casual, compromised eye of the IPhone. They are all from this year. I have heard that the in-the-flesh version generally delivers a pleasant shock. This online forum seems to demand creativity when it comes to the whole age thing, on both sides of the gender line. What's a girl to do? Hmmm. Oh, just drop me a line.
My Ideal Person:
You're funny and deep. Good with words, or your hands, or both. Eyes might take the prize. Demonstrative and kind. You're game to venture forth with me. And you agree that a shift of three degrees can change the course of your life.
The last great book I read The Control of Nature, Sketches from a Hunter's Notebook.
Favorite on-screen sex scene Tom Jones, dinner scene.
