Hi, I gloriously left the corporate world two years ago and now I dabble in surface design (serious career change). Art and my creativity are very important to me.
I love to travel. The more far flung the better. But really, any kind of travel I can appreciate. A 24-hour flight or a 2-hour drive, I'm willing to do them all.
I tend to be down to earth (terrible cliche but the truth). I like small restaurants (with really good food). I like off the beaten path. I live in NYC, but love getting out of the city and into nature on a regular basis. And on the other hand, I can impress in a pair of heels and a dress.
My Ideal Person:
I'd like to find someone who can share my passions for art, food, travel, nature ... not necessarily in that order. Someone with a good balance of getting out into the world and spending some time at home. And finally, someone who just knows how to have a good laugh.
The last great book I read More Things Like This -- compilation of illustrations (doodles?) with words, from the editors of McSweeney's. Think of it as a picture book for adults.
My most humbling moment Pulling out of the gated home with a beautiful pool and house servants that I was visiting in Lusaka, and driving past men, women and children on the side of the dirt road selling the two tomatoes or bundles of sticks they had gathered. If that doesn't make you think twice about your life and the world at large, nothing will.
The best or worst lie I've ever told Been racking my brain for a good one, and all I can think of is the usual "What are you talking about? That looks great on you!"
If I could be anywhere right now Toss up ... beach or on a mountain top just before dusk.
Five items I can't live without trees, the ocean, lobster, salt, art
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Chocolate is sexy. Chocolate covered caramel with grey salt crystals sprinkled on top is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... feathers
