Hello. I am friendly, progressive, social and enjoy meeting new people. I'm writing a novel.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I lived in London for seven years where I worked in book publishing. I have lived in NW DC since February.
I love reading literary fiction, watching old films, visiting art museums, hiking, riding my clunky green '74 Schwinn bike around town and cooking with local, seasonal produce.
I am passionate about traveling and was fortunate enough to have spent all of 2008 traveling in Asia. One of the highlights of my adventure was three weeks trekking in Nepal's Annapurna region.
My Ideal Person:
I'm looking for a man about my age who is social, self-confident, thoughtful, with a positive outlook and who embraces life. I'd like to spend time with someone honest who is an excellent listener and communicator and is open about his feelings. I want someone with whom I can have new experiences.
Physically I'm in good shape and would like to date men who take care of their bodies as well, both in terms of eating well and regular exercise.
The last great book I read Some of my favorite books are "The Shadow of the Wind"by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, "Blindness" by Jose Saramago, "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver, "White Noise" by Don deLillo, and anything by Margaret Atwood and Chuck Palahniuk.
My most humbling moment Completing a five day Hindu pilgrimage walking 100 miles through the Thar Desert alongside tens of thousands of Indians.
The best or worst lie I've ever told I'm a very honest person, but I'm writing a novel largely concerning lies and childhood.
If I could be anywhere right now I'd like to go trekking in Ethiopia.
Five items I can't live without 1) Friends and family, 2) Writing and books, 3) Travel, 4) Delicious food, 5) Tea and beer (but not at the same time)
In my bedroom one will find... It's an attic room with exposed brick walls. I have an afghan blanket crocheted by my great-aunt, a Berber Moroccan rug and a growing collection of books.
