I'm a recently separated mother of two, voluble, vulnerable, inquisitive no end. I'm looking for distraction in all its manifold forms. I love to read, write, draw, feast, and imbibe. I hate exercise, but I'm afraid of death. So far, my aversion to anything deliberately aerobic trumps my hypochondria. That said, I do love a canoe, not to mention camping in the wilderness.
My Ideal Person:
Irreverence, emotional frankness, raunch, wit, compassion. Oh, and liberal leanings are a must.
The last great book I read
Henry James, Daisy Miller (I was living two blocks from
the Coliseum, after all - and I've always aspired to
be a Jamesian heroine: bold, brash, and shocking to European
sensibilities).

Swooning during my dissertation defense.
Favorite on-screen sex scene
The pornographers still have the market on this, I’m afraid.
Hollywood sex scenes are pretty damn tame. I mean, what's
with the lack of full-frontal nudity??

The best or worst lie I've ever told
I never tell lies. I fear I’m congenitally incapable of
it. I do, however, exaggerate. Best to divide everything
I say by two.
