My sartorial style tends toward a combination of Secretary and Hot for Teacher , which has probably lost its satirical edge now that I'm actually a professor. I love horror movies. I'm an excellent cook, and an even better baker. I'm equal parts competitive and cooperative, with a liberal dash of confessional. I run long distances very slowly. Take that literally or metaphorically, either way, it holds true.
My Ideal Person:
Someone who appreciates the fine art of breakfast. An aficionado of any variety. A person with a taste for running jokes. Feminists, freelancers, fresh princes. A healthy respect for feline wisdom. A deep and abiding love for alliterative lists.
The last great book I read No One Belongs Here More Than You, Miranda July
If I could be anywhere right now I think...the third grade. I was at my boldest, brashest and best back then, before the childhood delusions of grandeur came crashing down.
Five items I can't live without peanut butter, records, inside jokes, coffee, a begrudging sense of hope
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. confidence is sexy; kindness is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... a record player, all right angles, vintage book covers, impeccable order, the requisite graduate student workspace (books advisor wants me to read, papers I'm going to someday write, tests to eventually grade - basically, a pile of hopes, dreams, and procrastination).
